Creating the WVNET Phonebook Entry
- Open My Computer.
- Double-click Dial-Up Networking.
If Dial-Up Networking was not previously installed, WindowsNT will start the procedure to install the components required by Dial-Up Networking. This process will also activate the Add New Connection Device wizard if required. Follow the instructions. Your Windowsnt installation disks may be required. You will be asked to restart Windowsnt. After the restart, open My Computer and double-click Dial-Up Networking.

Click New.
Enter WVNET for the name of the phonebook entry and click Next. |
| For Server, check the boxes: "I'm calling the Internet" and "Send my plain text password if that's the only way to connect."
Click Next>. Enter the telephone number for the modem pool in your area. Click Next>, then Finished. |

To review the settings for the phonebook entry:

Choose Edit entry and modem properties from the More button menu. |
| To start the connection process,
Double-click the Dial-up Networking icon in My Computer. |

Then click the Dial button. The Connect to dialogue box should appear.
Enter your modem account userid in the Username field and your password in the Password field. Leave the Domain field blank. Choose Save password to eliminate the need to enter a password each time you connect. Click OK and the modem should begin to dial. |
