WVNET Web Page Standards and Acceptable Use Policy
Personal Web pages are part of WVNET's Internet dialup service, which is intended to support the missions and goals of higher education, public education, libraries, and state and local government. These missions and goals include education, research, administration, community service and economic development.
- Publishers of personal web pages are responsible for the content of their pages, and they must make sure that their page does not violate their institutional policies and local, state and federal laws. WVNET does not accept responsibility for the contents of these pages.
- Laws regarding publishing and copyright apply to all pages.
- Commercial, for-profit use is prohibited. Advertising of commercial offerings is forbidden.
- Access through WVNET provides Internet connectivity to regional and national networks, such as USENet. Web page publishers are advised that any acceptable use policies of our backbone networks apply. If WVNET is informed by federal, state or international authorities of inappropriate or illegal use of its network, we reserve the right to request that the offending data be removed.
