Higher Education Facilities Information System (HEFIS)

The HEFIS database contains inventory and utilization information for all classroom and laboratory space in the public higher education facilities. HEFIS serves as a valuable policy tool for use in facilities planning and future capital allocations.

Over the past year, institutions have added new modules for tracking building safety and code issues, work orders, equipment, vehicles, and capital project requests. The program has widespread use at the campus level.  This facilities management system was the winner of the 2007 Office of Technology Award for Innovation.
