From the Chart of Accounts Implementation Guide's Intro..."This document has been developed to assist each institution in building a Banner Finance chart of accounts.  The document is comprised of text taken from SCT's documentation (Banner Finance 4.0 User Manual, data element dictionary, and training guides) screen shots from WVNET's Banner Finance test database, and notes from the Prototype Team. 

The forms discussed within are those determined necessary to build a chart of accounts to meet the reporting needs of WV higher education institutions.  The Prototype Team Notes provide the recommended values for the maintenance forms, as well as other information pertinent to the referenced forms and related processes.

This document with its exhibits and appendixes will be used throughout the roll out phase for implementation assistance and training.   Spreadsheets and templates are being provided with this document to assist each institution in planning and building their chart.  Data within shaded areas of the spreadsheets are NOT TO BE CHANGED when developing each institution's complete chart.  The roll ups (Shaded Areas) are defined to ensure proper Financial Statement roll ups, reporting capabilities, and interface processing..."
